This year ERP.ORG is back with the high-quality event on the subject of ERP’s, hosted by Shmuel Merdler.
The event will be attended by representatives of the leading ERP companies who will discuss the new versions, tools and innovations in the systems.
This year I have chosen to give a lecture on a slightly less popular, but very interesting and important topic – how not to replace an ERP system.
I will give the lecture in collaboration with the project manager from the implementing supplier – Amichai Keidar from Intentia. we will talk about a project in which we are working together at Carmel Frenkel.
There are cases where an organization has a good and high-quality ERP system that can provide an excellent solution.
In these cases it is advisable to check what is required in order to improve the response of the information systems .
Sometimes, it is a system that has not been maintained or upgraded for many years. In other cases it is possible that the solutions within the framework of the application were not optimal for the organization, or perhaps the business processes are complicating the matter, or perhaps everything works correctly but we have forgotten to train the users.
In any case, examining the meaning of not replacing a system is critical before running off to examine alternative solutions and replacing a system. Such projects are usually cheaper and faster than a replacement.
