Transition project to a new logistics center and WMS system
These days I am managing a logistics center transition project. What has changed? If, when the warehouse was nice and small, the warehouse staff knew exactly where everything was found, just because they remembered, that won’t be the case in a big logistics center with many locations.
One of the most important things in the transition is to be ready for it, adapt the organization to work with barcodes, automation, an application for managing the warehouse WBS, to work with terminals and much more.
The most important thing is to also plan the computerization during construction, to know where the stands will be located, where WIFI reception and communication is required.
And perhaps the most important thing is to prepare and adjust the computer system before the move, so that on the day of the move everything works perfectly.
