The Connection Between a Birthday and Factory Efficiency

Or- how to correctly celebrate an employee’s birthday

This morning I met with the CEO of a factory. the CEO is a fan of technology, is constantly dealing with matters that can optimize the work in the factory, their customer service, and lead to efficiency.
After about an hour, someone knocks on the door, signaling to him that now was the time. The CEO gets up and asks everyone to come for a short birthday celebration break.

The factory went on a break, and not for a minute or two. One of the production tables was covered with a tablecloth and treats made by the celebrants, treats that they made the effort to make and did not buy in some bakery on the way.

The CEO began congratulating the celebrants with such personal wishes, indicating their deep acquaintance, and great care.

After the congratulations, the CEO introduced me, and explained to the employees the purpose of the work and the issue we are dealing with, connecting them to the process and its potential contribution to the factory.

No wonder that the sign posted on the back promoted sharing, and respecting others.

So what did we learn here today? Human relations, it all permeates from above, caring as a hoist for efficiency and employees who understand the goals of the organization and its steps.

Needless to say, in the meeting afterwards all of the employees were extremely cooperative.

Brilliant!
